Rust Server Index is a catalogue of every public Rust server, drawn from Steam's public server list. Each entry is filed by name and subject and shows live player counts, wipe dates, settings and rankings. It is built for browsing and comparing before you commit to a wipe.
Enquiry 02Where does the data come from and when was it last checked?
Counts and queue lengths come from Steam's public Rust server list, read every five minutes. Settings such as map, seed and gather rate are taken from direct queries to the servers themselves. Wipes are recorded when a server reports a new world, usually within about five minutes.
Enquiry 03Is Rust Server Index run by Facepunch or a server network?
No. Rust Server Index is independent of Facepunch, server networks and hosting companies. It lists public data only and takes no payment for placement in the index. See about Rust Server Index for how the catalogue is compiled.
Enquiry 04How do I find a server to play on?
Start with the full server index and filter by region, group limit, gather rate and wipe schedule. Sort by current players or next wipe if you want a busy server or a fresh start. Subject lists such as top vanilla servers or servers just wiped narrow the shelves further.
