Rust Server Index is a catalogue of every public Rust server, kept current and filed A to Z.
The in-game browser tells you a server exists. It does not tell you how busy it was last Tuesday, when it wipes next, or how it ranks against the rest. This site exists to answer those questions before you commit to a wipe.
Every five minutes the index reads Steam's public Rust server list: names, player counts, queues and the tags servers publish. It also queries each server directly for map seed, FPS and entity count. Not every server answers the direct query, so some entries show only what Steam publishes. Everything you see here comes from what servers say about themselves. There is no editorial selection and no paid placement.
Ranks are based on players over the past week, hour by hour. A server busy every day ranks above one that fills for a single evening after a wipe. Lists are ordered by player count, never by payment.
If an entry about your server looks wrong, the fix is usually in the server's own settings; changes appear within about five minutes. If it still looks wrong, write to hello@rustserverindex.org.
The index is independent and run by Rust players. It is not affiliated with Facepunch Studios and nothing here is endorsed by them. Server names, descriptions and images belong to the people who run those servers.
